USTC PRACTITIONER'S SERVICES
TAX COURT EXAM PREPARATION CLASS

Results for the 11/13/08 exam are anticipated in Spring '09.
The Tax Court exam will be given again in 2010.

USTCPS's One Year Study Class for the 2010 Exam Cycle commences 11/1/09 - check this site in late Summer or early Fall '09 for location/dates/costs and registration forms.

Want to begin self-study now?

Read the Tax Court Rules of Practice and Procedure (ustaxcourt.gov) and Federal Rules of Evidence (any source, preferably with commentary).  Regularly read Tax Court cases (Opinion and Memorandum) at ustaxcourt.gov (posted daily at 3:30 EST) for a flavor of the language and procedures of the Court. Use Gleim Federal Tax Exam Questions and Explanations as needed to study frequently tested, but less familiar areas of Federal Taxation including estates/trusts/gifts, corporations, and partnerships.  Study aids (flash cards, workbooks or CDs) from a law school may help with your Evidence studies.

Want more direction to your studies?

Access to our 2008 One Year Study Class Yahoo chat group is available for $500.  All 12 monthly assignments (questions and answers) are available at your convenience - the assignments were used to lay the foundation of the 2008 studies before the live classes were held.

--OR--

Purchase the 2008 Exam Cycle text at a 50% discount ($1,375).  Be aware USTCPS does not offer a subscription service - changes in law and/or procedures are likely to occur for 2010 and this material alone is not likely sufficient for successful 2010 exam studies. If you sign up for the 2010 One Year Study class by 11/1/09, $750 of the '08 text purchase price is applied to your registration fees.

Would you like to be admitted to practice before the Tax Court?  A nonattorney can only be admitted to Tax Court practice by passing a rigorous written admission examination, next offered in November 2010.  You can be part of our dynamic class series Preparing to Practice Before the US Tax Court, which provides 64 hours of instruction designed to assist tax professionals in passing the written admission examination. Or study on your own either way we can help you reach your goal.

3 of the 7 who passed the 2002 Tax Court exam were our students.

All 6 people who passed the 2006 Tax Court exam were our students.

The live session text is revised for changes in law, procedure and court cases each time the class is offered, making it the most up-to-date course available. Students who sign up for the 2010 One Year Study Class program by 11/1/09 start their studies a year in advance while enjoying invaluable interactions with others working to achieve the same goal. Details about this exciting innovation will be available here in late Summer or early Fall '09.

We are pleased to announce USTCPS is approved as an education sponsor by the Office of Professional Responsibility and NASBA. We can offer CPE to EAs and CPAs for our group live courses - no CPE is available for the self-study option.
